Southern Maryland Dredging, Inc. is a privately owned marine construction and hydraulic dredging contractor that has served the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries since 1966. Specializing in hydraulic long-line dredging, we operate in rivers, creeks, harbors, marinas, canals, channels, and lakes throughout the Delmarva region.
Based in Solomons Island, Maryland, and backed by decades of experience, we have completed projects for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Maryland state agencies, local governments, and private marinas. From narrow creeks to busy harbors, we provide safe, efficient, and cost-effective dredging solutions that restore depth, improve access, and keep waterways navigable.

We own and operate a fleet of hydraulic cutter suction dredges in various sizes, capable of digging to -33ft MLW, with 10+ miles of pipeline, booster pump barges, crew boats, A-frame barges, dozers, excavators, Hypack GPS system, and other support equipment.

A privately owned marina with annual beach renourishment for a neighboring community beach, placing approximately 3,000–5,000 cubic yards of sand each year.
